BEING LATE

Thanks to Erasmo Cortez

This morning, I was running super late to meet with my supervisor. We meet once a month to go over anything that I am having trouble with on the job. I am a substance abuse counselor. My husband usually goes to work at six in the morning, but today, he had to go in at nine like I did. Our schedules got totally thrown off. I ended up getting up late and putting the coffee on late. I looked terrible going to work. To make matters worse, I got my to-go coffee mug and I grabbed the top really quickly, surely enough, the entire cup of coffee spilled all over my clothes and the floor. I was wearing a winter white sweater so I had to change. I quickly logged onto my Gmail account using my clear wireless internet connection and sent my supervisor an e-mail explaining that I was going to be a little late. I know that being tardy is her pet peeve and that she is a little ticked about it, but sometimes things happen that you just can’t control. Unfortunately, they happened to me today when I needed to be on time!

Trying out a green strawberry smoothie

Guest post written by Gwen Holloway

I really love the taste of fruit. I guess that's a good thing because I never had to worry about not getting enough of my fruit and vegetables. I'm sure that my mom was really glad because of that too. Well I still can't really get enough of it as an adult, but I also like my variety when it comes to my fruit.

I was looking up some info on some different fruit recipes to try while I was online a few nights ago and I ended up stumbling across the website CLEARWIRELESSINTERNET.com. I read it and after that I decided to change over my home internet service to it.

I saw this one recipe for a green strawberry smoothie that just sounded so weird that I had to try it out, so I did. I think that it's one of my new favorite smoothie recipes now! Although my boyfriend wasn't quite as enthusiastic as I was about it. It took a while to talk him into even trying it because he didn't like the green color of it.

Servers Gone

I have been working from desk to desk today because our office looks like under renovation. Probably, that could be the better term to use. First, there were some IT people who came and transferred our servers to a different location. I heard that the owner decided to get a colocation plan for our servers for security and reliable back up of our data. At first, the owner was offered a managed hosting service but since we already have our own servers, he decided to just go for a colocation. It makes sense also because the secretary who has been sitting next to the servers has been complaining about the temperature brought by the machines every day. I am sure this transfer would create more room at this main branch.

Our IT person got worried when they decided for a colocation thinking that she might lose her job. But my boss reassured her that she will still be the IT and the only person be in close contact with the web hosting company that manages our website. She rarely comes to the office because she works at home but today she was here at the job to personally talk to the big boss. So far everybody is happy with all the changes

Learn Online At CoursePark

Today is supposed to be the start of my class at the campus for a subject I took besides the online courses I have been taking but apparently there were not enough students who enrolled for the summer so they ended up cancelling the course and rescheduled it for the regular semester. This worked to my advantage since I am already having problems with my work and school schedules. This is why I love online study very much.

Since I started with my online classes, I feel the need of learning more applications that I know I will encounter as I go forth with my studies. I remember when we had a report that requires the use of excel, I have to buy a book to educate myself on how to use the application unlike at CoursePark learning networks, you can learn courses online at your own pace. They also have online learning system for business who wants to train their employees or have your company courses built that be sold at the coursemarket.

If you want to take a peak of what CoursePark can offer you or to your business, go to their website at coursepark.com. Check also the free courses and more than 3500 courses available. To join is absolutely free. Click here to register now.

Needs Upgrade

How I wish they upgrade our server to the litespeed technology that is being offered by Ultra web Hosting. Every time that it is month end, we always experience a slower website due to heavy usage. This is usually the problem when the last two days of the month falls on a weekend. Reports, invoices and statements are being done only today and with the load from three branches, we need faster processors to handle the job.

Ultra Web Hosting runs on the fast LiteSpeed Technology hosting on 8-core Xeon with faster loading websites and servers that they own and operate. They offer free remote backups and on site technicians to assist customers and do troubleshooting if you encounter problems. With their live support available all the time, you can get help right away, not just talking to a machine when you need assistance. With regards to pricing, they have servers with the most competitive pricing and if you are not satisfied with the service, you have 45 days to try or get refunded on your hosting charges. Check out the deals offer by visiting http://ultrawebsitehosting.com for easy account set up or for more information of the services they can offer you or to your company.

Back To Work

After a five day break from work, now it is back to reality. My daughter also went back to school today and she was so happy about it. She missed school so much. The only good thing is, I am still on a break from my online courses but I have other classes to attend to at school every Tuesdays and Thursdays. Right now, I am looking into getting more credits this summer. Online degree programs in healthcare are taken at your own pace so the more credits you get each time you enroll the faster you are going to finish your degree. If only I have enough money saved for the whole program, I will be done with school ahead of time. Although, I get all these tuition fees loan programs and there is this Free Application For Federal Student Aid too but I have not made up my mind on getting these student loans. To me, I would rather work myself to finish school than be indebted when I graduate.

Hope everybody had a nice Easter weekend. I am just thankful for the beautiful weekend weather we had and also for a sunny day today. It is perfect for walking at the park after work before the sun sets at 7:30 pm. I'll try to get out of work early to enjoy the sun. We will be expecting more rain but that is ok. I like April showers than snow.

Thanks To My Fast Internet Service

I just uploaded more than 300 photos on my online album. I have been doing this regularly now before my computer breaks down again (I hope not!). I’ve already learned my lesson of losing thousands of pictures when my computer broke and it happened again when my last laptop died. I never saved or uploaded any of the pictures online for storage. I have procrastinating again. I have nothing to blame but myself. I know it only takes few minutes to upload pictures online using our high speed internet service but I never did it until I cannot power back on my computer. If I have an external back up hard drive, maybe I could have saved some of them but never got the chance to buy one. I am hoping I can still save the computer hard drive and recover those pictures one day.

If you compare the speed of uploading pictures from the dial-up internet service we had ten years ago, it may take days to upload a thousand photos. And, I do not think computers 10 years ago can hold that much pictures. Now with this new models and dsl service, you can do multiple tasks at one time with no delays at all. Uploading and downloading music and photos are at a high speed. It will only take few minutes and the job is done.

Although I have my pictures stored online, I still pick some for printing and have them in a photo album. Call me an old fashioned but I love making scrap books and designing photo albums.

Hubby Got It

So my husband was a happy camper of the day. The day has come for his iphone upgrade. He was not playing because right after work, we went to the apple store to purchase his iphone 4. My husband is not a techy guy but he is an avid iphone user since day 1. I cannot blame him because the iphone is really awesome.

The apple guy helped him transfer all his apps and datas from the old phone to the new one. The guy does not really know how much time and energy he saved me by doing it. As i was looking at the new phone, my husband has apps for online trading and now the new mobile trading of stocks. When i asked him if he ever tried the mobile trading? He said, he will with his new phone. I have no idea about stock trading so i leave this all to him.

When we left the store, hubby was not the only one happy but me too. No, i did not get a new iphone too but i got hubby's old one. I have a very nice smartphone but i decided to switch because my phone's battery goes fast. I am fine with the 3Gs for now, i'll just wait for the iphone 5 to arrive.

It's That Time Again

I am checking my bank statement if the webhosting company has charge me for the renewal fee of my website. I knew it is due sometime this month. The web hosting company already sent me an email few months back reminding me of the due but I think I accidentally deleted that email. I cannot find it anymore in my mailbox.

I have no plans of changing my web site hosting company. Their service is above my expectations and I will definitely recommend their services to any of my friends who have blogs too. I did my homework before signing up for a web host. It was through http://www.webhostingrating.com that I was able to make a comparison and check the reviews, ratings and fees of various host companies. Right now you can check the 2011 Best 10 cheap web hosting services. Get one that meet your needs so that you will be happy with the services that you get.

The need to take better notes

Guest post written by Ricky Thompson

It can be so hard for me to pay attention to what's going on during lectures because I get really distracted by other people and in any given college class half the people are on Facebook on their laptops when they're supposed to be taking notes. Then a quarter of them are texting to other people. So it can be really tough to concentrate on what the professor is saying to get down all the stuff in my notes that may appear on the test.

I thought that maybe this semester I should turn a new leaf in my note taking for classes and tried to look up tips on how to take better notes. While I was looking online for that stuff I came across some Harrisburg clear 4g internet packages and after I read some about them I decided to change over my internet service at my apartment to it.

I found some note taking tips online that I'm going to use this semester. It's just now starting so we'll see if I can start this good note taking habit.

Web Host Renewal

As I was cleaning my mailbox this morning, I found an email regarding a domain registration reminder for one of my websites. The webhosting company normally sends out reminders at least 60 days before the deadline so that you have ample time to prepare or to decide whether to go for a renewal or not. Even if you decide on the last day, it is easy to renew your domain registration by just replying to the email or giving them a call. These web site hosting companies already have your information and credit card on file for easy payment processing.

The why I have not responded to the email is because I am not yet sure whether to continue with my contract or find another webhost. I am not fully satisfied with the service and I think I am paying too much per month. I have to check the best web hosting offers available online before I make my final decision. Although I found this reminder a bit later, I think I still have time to compare and check the special deals that are being offered right now. I will be checking http://webhostingfan.com for more reviews and news on best web host companies.

Web Filter

Few weeks ago, they installed Anti Keylogger Software in our work computer and now, there is a web filter. The anti keylogger is for the security of your computer from hackers and viruses. This is a work computer and we are inputting customer’s information, addresses and credit card numbers so we need to make our computer secure and safe. Now, this web filter is more on employees who spend a lot of time doing personal things online. They got rid of websites according to different categories. There is no more shopping, social networking, games and entertainment websites that you can access. If you try to access these websites, you will get a message that it is inappropriate. Good thing, they left news and banking categories.

Another new for this year at my workplace is the CCTV Pro Cameras installed around the building and inside the warehouse. We have been victimized by customers who walked away with some expensive units. My boss hopes that with the cameras in place, it will somehow minimize theft in the company. They are now installed in places where faces of customers are visible from the counter to the parking lot. I wonder what's next to be installed in the coming months.

Internet Shopping And A Virus

Our IT person was in our office today to fix two computers that got infected by viruses. She could not get rid of the virus remotely so she has to be physically in the office to do it. We all got scared because she might take our internet access totally. Almost every week we get hit by a virus from websites that we visited and being a company computer we are not actually allowed to do our shopping online. Tell me, who does not do their online shopping at work? Thank God, our IT person was not in a bad mood today so we did not get punished. She is also woman, I bet she does what we do at work too.

The person next to me is the no. 1 guilty of online shopping and social networking. She loves shopping for shoes. Her favorites are sneakers and boots. Just like today, ups delivered the Burberry leather twisted band sandal she bought from zappos. I know she wants to wear it to the party she is going Friday night. I wish I have all the extra money to shop for these shoes like hers. They are not cheap even though with all the discounts and coupons. Hope Santa will be
nice to me this Christmas.

Bags of holiday cheer

Guest post written by Ruby Hinson

I've never been all that great at wrapping up presents for people. No matter how much I try, I can never make the folding and the taping look neat, so most of the time I opt for using gift bags and alternative ways to wrap up gifts instead. Besides, I just think that there's something that seems a little more special about wrapping up gifts in bags, they just look like you spent a whole lot more time and thought into them.

But since I use so many bags, I make sure to reuse a lot of them and come up with ways to reuse other materials on them to freshen up, just to be thrifty and green. I like to look online to find new ways to wrap up gifts and a few nights ago when I was doing that I saw some stuff about clear tv bundle offers and decided to sign up for one of them.

But putting together a recycled gift bag isn't all that hard. I find that it looks pretty chic if you take a plain brown shopping bag and replace its paper handles with some sturdy ribbon and printed wrapping paper on the front.

A Love Letter from Mr. G

Mister G decided to unfriend me since yesterday. I don't really log on to my adsense account everyday to check it but when I check it tonight it says my account is disabled. Toink! My Bad!

It says check your email message and there it was mister g's love letter to me. I can do an appeal through the appeal form provided. What I did or why was it disable i don't know. I really want to know so that we can avoid it but they do not disclose anything. I have three blogs and I have no idea which of the three got banned or is it across the board. So now I am shopping for another internet advertising company like mr g's. So long adsense and hello B.....

Be Bidazzled

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of Bidazzled. All opinions are 100% mine.

I am an online shopper, either at my favorite online store or at the famous online bidding/auction websites. I like the excitement of outbidding other buyers but more than the excitement it is the bargain price that attracts a lot of buyers online.

Last November, a new online market auction called Bidazzled was launched. Bidazzled redefines the online auction market by offering savings of 90% on name brands merchandise. It is commonly called Penny Auctions or Pay-per-bid auction sites, where bids are purchased in advance and then used to bid on merchandise you wish to purchase. The price increases a few cents with each bid placed and a few seconds are added to the countdown to give other buyers the chance to bid. If no other bids, the auction ends. This is where you can see a merchandise can be bought in cents or just a dollar! If you are not lucky, you still receive 50 bonus bids as a thank you for participating that you can use for free within seven days. It’s a different kind of excitement, right? And also remember, when you bid at bidazzled, you are also funding a lung cancer charity.

If you want to get great merchandise at amazing prices, join bidazzled and you automatically get five free bids when you register. Register now for free at bidazzled.com and start bidding right away.

SS Cashout

I was making a cashout at SS and I got this message: "sorry you must have a minimum of $50 to withdraw." It used to be a minimum of $20 only, right? Did they increase the minimum recently? This would take sometime to cashout now because I hardly get bigger opps. Even the small ones are hard to get too. Di na kagaya noon.

Hubby And His Watch

My husband is not really into jewelry but when he saw his favorite tennis player wearing a Technomarine Moonsun Abyss watch, all of a sudden I saw him shopping for one. It is a waterproof diving watch in a stainless case and bezel with a black silicone strap; a water resistant of up to 10,900 meters! When he got the watch, he was explaining to me the importance of the silicone filled case with a permanent bubble floating inside. It is to prevent implosion and to resist the greatest depth of water.

Now came the time to replace the battery. We found out that there are only few certified dealers here in New Jersey so we went to the one closest to our house. They told us that they do not do the battery replacement at their store and they have to send the watch to the Technomarine factory. A special tool is needed to open it up because of the silicone. The store gave us a receipt and they will contact us after a couple of weeks. That was the deal.

Few weeks passed, we never got a phone call. We went to the
store and the owner told us that the watch got lost in transit. They are waiting for the courier to pay them back but my husband does not believe the story anymore when they offered him the same watch but has no silicone bubble inside. My husband knows his watch inside out. He thinks that they never sent it back to the factory and they just tried to replace the battery themselves. They did replace the battery but the permanent bubble inside the watch is gone. Several arguments and trips to the store happened within the next weeks. Hubby was already thinking of going to a small claims court if worst comes to worst.

So what is the ending of the story? On our last trip to the store, hubby told me he will never leave the store unless they replace his watch with a brand new one. He got what he wanted. Hubby walked out of the store with a brand new watch.

Web Hosting Geeks

A lot of my friends know that I own a Website and they always ask me to help them build one. First thing I say is “just register on the free services offered online.” They did what I told them to do and the follow up question after a few months of having a blog is “what is the right web hosting company for their blog.” I always tell them to check webhostinggeeks.com.

Webhostinggeeks.com is a website that has a compilation of independent reviews and ratings of the best web hosting providers. You can find professional website hosting services for under $10 a month with at least one free domain name registration plus 30 day money back guarantee. The different web host companies are ranked according to their features, host reliability, key and bonus features, customer support, pricing and user friendliness. The reviews and feedback from customers are also worthy to be considered when choosing a web host because these are all based on their experiences with a particular web hosting company.

I found my web host provider through webhostinggeeks.com and I am happy with the service. Know what kind of web host you need depending on your website and take time to go through all the
reviews. I am sure you will find one best that fits according to your need and budget.
