The Williams Champs at the Australian Open

I thought I would be able to wake up at 3:30 am to watch Serena Williams play against Dinara Safina at the Australian Open Women’s finals. I hear my alarm (cell phone) vibrates at around 5:45am, why on a vibrate mode? I don’t know. I switched on the TV but no game on ESPN2 or on Tennis channel. Hmmm…all done? I took shower and check online. Sure enough, the match was only 59 minutes. Serena won 6-0, 6-3 earning once again the no. 1 spot on women’s tennis ranking. This is her fourth Australian Open trophy and 1oth grand slam singles title. She and sister Venus also won the Women’s Doubles. Congratulations to the Williams sisters.

Amy Poehler in Smart Girls at the Party

I always enjoy watching Amy Poehler on Saturday Night Live. She is very good in imitating Hilary Clinton during her presidential campaign. Because of being good comedian, she was nominated as an Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy series at the Emmy Awards.

If you saw the widget, you will see Amy Poehler in a show entitled Smart Girls at the Party interviewing the cute Kenaudra, a reluctant babysitter who can do praise dancing, playing steel drums and a scholar. This is a more serious show compared to her SNL where she gets to interview extraordinary individuals. Feel free to get your own widget here and embed it on your blogs or Website.

Did you like the show? Is it like as if you are watching TV at home? Did you see the Barbie dream house featured at the end of the show? My daughter is now asking me to buy one for her. The widget is brought to you by Cosmo TV, a new way of bringing television shows to any Website. Through the widget, you can see everything that we see on TV on the web now. You are able to reach millions of consumers online by syndicating your video on their Website. The manner in which people watch TV now has been changed from the typical black box at home to video sharing sites and watching widgets on the Website. In today’s technology, people wants to watch TV programs anywhere they want thus creating a different audience for advertisers. Cosmo TV can help you capture these audiences through video widgets that can be embed to any Website.

Me and my daughter are leaving too in 20 minutes but the very exciting game is still ongoing. It's the 5th and final set now. Two Spaniards. Two Lefties. Madrid and Mallorca, Spain. Rafael Nadal vs. Fernando Verdasco....Oh boy! Who do you think will go against Federer on Sunday for the Finals?

Delayed Opening Today

Schools in my town have a delayed opening today for 90 minutes because of the snow. Instead of 8:45 opening for Pre-k, it was moved to 9:55. The snow stopped when I was on my way to work but the roads were slushy with icy rain. The school's alert system works pretty well, they will call all the phone listed on your school's record informing you about school's closing and delayed opening. They also have a website to check the updates.

Obama Inauguration Signs

The White House is just a four hour drive from where I life. Even if I did not go to Washington, D.C. to attend the inauguration of President Obama, the Obama fever is felt right here at home. My friend who is a full Obama supporter even ordered Obama commemorative signs from obamainagurationsigns.com as a show of support to the new President. These signs are very lightweight that he has posted one of them at his front yard during the inauguration last Tuesday. He just took it off tonight but he intends to keep them as a remembrance of the Obama Presidency.

My Daily Planner

I decided to get a daily planner for this year. I have been using my blackberry for the past years but I missed writing. I guess there are more things to write/note now that I am blogging. My blackberry is fine but sometimes when I look for something that I noted months ago, it takes time to go back rather than if you have a planner you can just browse the pages easily. I will still be keeping both and the blackberry is good for scheduling bills which I easily forget sometimes. The alarm helps me remind what is on schedule for the coming days. I did not get the leather/thick/$$ ones because it will be too heavy inside my purse. This is just a cheapy, handy and light from target.

Miracle at the Hudson

I have posted on my other blog about the US Airways flight 1549 that landed at the Hudson river last week. As a tribute to the heroic acts of the pilot, crews and rescuers, Kenneth Cole, a famous designer put this billboard along West 57th street, New York. The pilot of the aircraft was Chesley "Sully" Sullenberger. All 155 people on board the aircraft are safe.

My Dry Skin

Today will be very cold again. I think this is one of the coldest winters since I moved here in the East Coast. It dries my skin too much but I have been applying this 7 cream with manuka honey as moisturizer to restore its glow. So far I have been getting good results. I have tried several moisturizers but this one really works.

U.S. President Inauguration

President Barrack Obama started his job as President of the United States today at 12:00 noon. He was sworn into office by Chief Justice John Roberts with wife Michelle holding the bible at 12:05 p.m. with millions of people from all over the country/world witnessing the inaugural ceremony at the National Mall. The crowd was cheering “Obama, Obama, Obama”. It was the biggest party in Washington, DC. Right after his swearing in was his first presidential speech as the crowd cheers; all with different emotions on their faces. They all want to be a part of history, being at the inauguration of the first African American President of the U.S.

Summer Paintball Tournament

My boss was talking about having a company paintball tournament this coming summer. I have never played one before although I have seen my nephews played paintball online. It seems like an exciting game trying to look for your opponents and aim your dye paintball guns. My company has booked an indoor paintball park to practice for the time that it is cold here but the tournament will be held outdoors. We will be competing with employees from the two branches we have here in New Jersey. I am now checking pntball.com if what gears do we need for this tournament. This will be fun and we are all excited.

Reflexology DVD

Deep Tissue Massage

Massage Techniques Massage Supplies

One day at the mall while doing our shopping, we found an area where people are doing hand reflexology for a certain fee. I always see those people doing back massages at the mall but doing hand reflexology is something different. I have never tried this although I have experience a foot reflexology when I was still in the Philippines. After a foot reflexology treatment you feel relaxed, and with the energy going into your body you feel relieved with emotional stress. For sure I am going back to the mall but other reflexology, I am also interested in buying a massage dvd for home use.

Our New Rice Cooker

My 6 year old rice cooker died down. We need to have a replacement asap because we are filipinos and how can we survive without rice, right? When we went to target that time they have no other model/brand but this Aroma Rice cooker so we bought it. It is a rice cooker and a steamer. My old one was a black and decker but not digital, only on and off functions, no keep warm but with a glass cover. This one is more techie but the only thing I miss is I can not put the inner pot inside the fridge if there is some leftover rice (which I normally do with the old one) because this new one the cover is attached to the body. But other than that, it is fine. I like the timer thing and it beeps when the rice is cooked.

I Sold This on Ebay

This is hubby's tennis shoes. When we bought this at the Adidas Outlet store, they have a promo "buy one get one 50% off." It is a good deal if you are buying two shoes. You can not combine shoes and clothing. Hubby asked me to get one for me just to avail the 50% but I already have this in red. So he ended up buying two pairs for him. What did we do on the other pair? We sold it on ebay. The starting price was the true cost but we made few dollars during the last few seconds of the bidding time. As for the buyer, he was still able to save some money. Not bad at all. It has been shipped and the buyer has received the shoes as per the tracking no. Hope he or she will give me a positive feedback.

Promises Can Help

I am now feeling symptoms of sore throat and possibly coughing. I could feel the itch in my throat but instead of taking any medicine I rely on my home remedy which is hot tea with lemon and honey. As much as possible I would like to cure or prevent simple illness without taking any medication. I am scared of its side effects and addiction due to constant taking of some form of medicine. I have read about vicodin addiction or addiction to certain drugs which contain hydrocodone and acetaminophen. These drugs should only be used strictly following the doctor’s prescription but once you get addicted or gets an overdose, it becomes harmful to your mind and body. If you know anybody who is addicted to vicodin, talk to them to enter a treatment center or rehab. Promises treatment centers in Malibu and West Angeles can be a place they can call home temporarily while they are being treated from addiction. They have various treatment plans for each patient under the care of licensed and credentialed professionals. If you want to see a slide show of their magnificent and beautiful locations, you can visit promises.com and see what they can offer to their patients. Please let Promises help you and your family end the suffering and come out with a brand new and clean life forever.

News About LensAlert

Lensalert

My best friend has a son who is ten years old. He used to wear prescription eyeglasses but because of how many times he has left his glasses either at the school bus or classroom. This is the reason why her son is now wearing contact lenses so that he will not be losing them anywhere.

One thing that my friend bought for his son is the
LensAlert. It is a container for your contact lenses and at the same time serves as a reminder of when you are supposed to change your contact lenses and your contact lens case. Would a 10 year old ever remember the last time he change his contact lens? Of course, not! The timer on LensAlert will tell him the last time he changed his contact lenses. If you have read the Woman’s World Magazine, they recently featured LensAlert in their “Products We Love” section. If grand ma or grandpa wears contact lenses, give them LensAlert. I am sure they will be very happy with it.

Also, on aclens.com, you can easily order your contact lenses online and you can save up to 70% off retail contact lens prices. They carry major brands of contact lenses such as Acuvue, Biomedics, Focus, Freshlook, Softlens, Purevision and a lot more. Free shipping is offered for orders of more than $89 and they have a 30-day return policy. If you want to read about
AC Lens blog from satisfied customers or get more information, you can visit aclens.com or click here.

Action All Star

Dotcom_outlinedall

My daughter is just starting to play computer games online. I do not allow her to play online unless it is guided by parents like actionallstars.com. Both athlete who is your child and the parent can sign up for the game. You are able to see and monitor the kind of game your child is playing which makes it not only fun for both but safe to kids like my daughter.
It is easy to join ActionAllStars.com. The best thing of it is that it is free to sign up. Why I said this is a safe place to play online for kids because your child cannot start playing on her own. An email is sent first to the parent to complete the activation process preventing the child to sign up without the parent's knowledge. Here is her avatar:

I and my daughter started playing right away on the baseball field. We are amateur players that we cannot seem to collect any token. We will keep on trying until we master this game because baseball is one of our favorite sports. I could recommend this to my friend’s son who loves NBA. Guess what, before logging off, we did not forget to stop by the MLB store right at the stadium. MLB.com is one of the current ActionAllstars.com partner so with NBA.com and Connectsafely.org.

Here is our photo playing baseball. We had fun!

Hooters

I'll share some pictures I took when me and hubby went to eat at Hooters. We were craving for buffalo wings and hooters serves one of the best. It was early afternoon so there were not much men customers at the restaurant yet. You know why I made mention of men, right? Hubby had a good excuse because he was with me. I like hooters and the ladies are nice. They are kid friendly too. They have crayons and coloring pages for kid customers.

We had a big order of the wings and curly fries. We finished them so with the calories and fats. YaY! We ordered blue cheese and celery as extra but you do not need it actually. The wings are already good with just catsup and hot sauce.

Call For Free

I have not a new year’s resolution for a very long time but this year I decided to have one again. I do not know if you classify this as a new year’s resolution because what I want to accomplish is to be an expense conscious homemaker This is to cut down our expenditures, make well budgeting to eliminate unnecessary expenses and be able to save some money. The first expense to be cut is our cell phone bill. We have a family plan which is expiring this month so I thought of not renewing the contract but instead get a prepaid cell phone for both of us. We only use our cell phones for important calls and we have accumulated hundreds of unused minutes each month for non usage. If we really have to make longer calls, I can do it through my computer at home and make free phone calls to any land line or mobile phones anywhere in the U.S. through CallingAmerica.com. These free phone calls are supported by advertisers but your calls are not interrupted by advertisements. Before a call is placed, you will see a brief 15 second or less advertisements and that is it. You get to call you friends and family anywhere in the U.S. How easy, right? Why spend money on phone calls when you can get it for free at callingamerica.com.

Shrimp Rolls

Because of being so busy today, I was not able to eat my lunch from home. I only had two shrimp rolls from the chinese place. We are having our inventory at work so we are rushing to get all done by this week. Tomorrow, I have to be at work early to finish everything.

Anyway, these two shrimp rolls with my favorite duck sauce filled me up. For $1.25 a piece, my lunch was only worth $2.50 no tax!
