They Cannot Play Indoor For Now

My husband has been teaching tennis in this racquet club for years. It is an indoor tennis and it is in demand during the winter time. When the weather started to get warm, the owner sent out flyers to members and employees that they will do a tennis court resurfacing during the summer time. I have not been inside the racquet club but my husband says that it really needs a tennis court resurfacing badly. The tennis club has been sold and this is now under new management. Hubby is not sure if they will do basketball court resurfacing too after the tennis courts are done.

It is not really a big problem that they are doing some improvement inside the racquet club now that it is summer time. They have also outdoor courts that they can play while it is being done but the outdoor playing is not happening as well most of this week because we will have rain until Friday. Right now it is already pouring hard outside. They have already canceled hubby's schedule for today. The resurfacing will not take long anyway, i think it will be ready by next week and everything will be back to normal.

Busy Day

It’s Monday, a busy Monday again! After being pampered and being off from the kitchen last weekend, my body is in a slow mode this morning. I have so many errands to do but first I have to take care of some tickets I need for my visitors this summer. They are coming from Philippines and they want to see sports games and concerts while they are here in the U.S. I need to get New York Jets Tickets and San Diego Chargers Tickets for the boys. For the ladies who want to see live shows and concerts, I already ordered Backstreet Boys Tickets and Celine Dion Tickets. I already have three Rascal Flatts Tickets for their July show in Camden but I am wondering if who among them are interested in coming with me to the show. This show is local and only about 3 hours away from where we are so there is no problem is someone would hop in on the last minute.

Are you shopping for any tickets too? I’ve got an answer for you. Visit http://acheapseat.com an online ticket broker where you can find tickets for concerts, theater or plays and sports events nationwide. Just visit their website and browse or search tickets according to your area or by categories. You can also view your seat number through the seating chart available for most events. So, do not wait in line anymore or go to any ticket booth to purchase your tickets, buy them at the comforts of your home, office or at your favorite coffee shop through ACheapseat.com and receive your tickets through FedEx in a matter of days.

Tickets Online

It is basketball season and who would not want to see their favorite team play, right? I would love to go if I get free New York Knicks Tickets. Madison Square Garden is just a train away from us. I have been to a Nets game already when my boss gave two New Jersey Nets tickets for me and my husband. My boss used to get season tickets but i think he stopped this year.

Do you need tickets? ACheapSeat.com is a professional ticket broker that can provide you with tickets to any sports, theater or concerts across the country. Even if you live in New Jersey or California and you want to purchase Miami Heat Tickets or Philadelphia 76ers tickets, ACheapSeat.com is the answer. You can view the seating chart on the website before you purchase your tickets so that you will know where you will be seating at the stadium. All tickets purchase are shipped to via fedex. Once I have enough saved money I will also buy from ACheapSeat.com two Boston Red Sox Tickets when they play against the Yankees at the Yankee Stadium. We have to check this new stadium that opened last year. After the Superbowl, we look forward for the baseball season, and also a sign that winter is almost over.

Good To Be In NJ

One evening while hubby was watching his favorite baseball team on TV, I asked him, if given the chance to move to another state, like one where the weather is warmer than the East Coast, where would he prefer? He answered me back by saying, maybe New York! I said that is not counted because New York is just across the river. So, as a follow up to my question, I asked him again, “what do you like most living in New Jersey?” He said, “It is sports.” Now, I got him fully well.

My husband likes sports. His favorites are baseball, football, soccer and the one that is really in his heart is tennis. You see, we live in an area in New Jersey where it is very close to a lot of stadiums. We have the Izod Center two miles away from us. Then going east bound to New York City, not too far from where we are, we will hit the newly built Yankee Stadium right after we cross the George Washington Bridge. The Citi Field stadium is also brand new right off Northern Boulevard in Queens, New York. We should not forget the Madison Square Garden at the center of Manhattan. I have not been to the new Yankee Stadium but I already have pictures of Citi Field, taken last September 2010. I regret that I was not able to go to the Staples Center in LA when I was still living in California.

So, is there still a reason for us to leave Jersey? I guess none.

Cable Sports on HD

I could say that we have a good summer this year. The were days of scorching heat but for me it is a treat for us who lives in the East Coast. In a few weeks, we will be bidding goodbye for summer again. No more outdoor activities and kids are going back to school too. One thing that excites us when summer is over is the NFL season.

Direct TV is offering something new in their NFL Sunday Ticket. It is back every Sunday but now you can watch all football games in HD. This excites my husband so much because he is a football fan. With his brand new HD TV, I am sure he will enjoy watching all his favorite teams on cable sports in HD. We live in New Jersey about less than a mile away from the newly built giant’s stadium so we feel the excitement every time there is a game at the stadium. Besides NFL Sunday, we also love watching Cox cable sports for college sports events.

If you are into sports, check out the best deals on Direct TV at mytvoptions.com. Call 1800-378-9318 for the best promotions in your areas to save some money and do not forget to ask about their free upgrades and free movie channels. Call them now and get the best deals on direct TV.

This Pinay Is At The Winter Olympics Too

We were watching the figure skating last night and when her name was announced as Amanda Evora, I was 100% sure she is Filipina. Her parents were at the audience supporting her and her partner Mark Ladwig. Amanda and Mark were silver medalist at the US National Championship which earned them a spot to be with the US team at the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver. This is their biggest competition and they both stand on the 10th place.
Amanda Evora was born in New York to father Vic from Calapan, Mindoro and mom Mary Ann from Isabela. She is the first full Filipino to be representing the U.S. at the Olympics.

There's A Filipino At The 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver

His name is J.R. (short for John Robert) Celski, a Filipino-American, born in Monterey California to a polish father Bob and a Filipina mother Sue. He is with the U.S. team and recently won a bronze medal in the 1500m short track speed skating with fellow American skater Apolo Ohno winning the silver medal yesterday at the 2010 Winter Olympics in Canada. This is Celski’s Olympic debut and his first big competition after a scary accident where he was injured on his thigh six months ago receiving 60 stitches. J.R. Celski was raised in Federay way, Washington, has 2 older brothers. He started with inline skating winning national titles and shifted to speed skating after watching Apolo Ohno became a star at the 2002 Olympic Winter Games. After the Vancouver Olympics, he will attend school at Cal-Berkeley.

Pacman Fever

After the Manny Pacquiao win, all of a sudden I got associated with the Pacman here at my job. I am the only pinoy here, oh correction dalawa pala kami pero yung isa dito parang ayaw umamin na pinoy sya porke ‘ala ng accent mag-english pero please sa kulay pala di maitago…nway, for those who have watched the fight or heard about it, when they see me, they are like..”that pacquiao from Philippines was unbelievable and super fast!” There was even one Puerto Rican yesterday and he was super bilib kay many. Even my husband told me that people will yell at him “pacquiao!!!” (pero slang) as they see him along the corridor.

It’s the Pacman fever. Congrats again Manny.

Be A Torchbearer In 2010 Vancouver Olympics

The technology we have today has made changes to how our kids spend their free time. Rather than spending it by doing out outdoor activities, a lot of our youths spend most of their time in front of the computers or TV’s playing games and surfing the internet.

There is a national program for the youth called SOGO Active. Their goal is to inspire our youth of today to be physically active. ParticipACTION , the national voice of physical activity and sport participation in Canada has been retained by Coca Cola to help in the design and execution of Sogo Action. This program is aimed to the youths of Canada; giving young Canadian the tools to design, change and control their own get active plan and to encourage other less active youth to participate. This is a chance for the youth to make their own decisions, connect with group members and plan their activities with the support of Sogo Active.

To reward the active participants who have joined Sogo active and have demonstrated a commitment to adopt an active lifestyle, Coca Cola will be getting 1000 active participants to be awarded torchbearer spots in the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Torch Relay. Being able to carry the Olympic flame is an honor and I hope it serves as an inspiration to our youths to join the program.

USA Swimming Suspends Michael Phelps

Michael Phelps, an eight time gold winner at the Beijing Olympics is being suspended by USA Swimming for three months after the British tabloid News of the World published his photo smoking from a marijuana pipe. The photo was taken during a house party in Columbia, South Carolina in November during an extended break from training. His financial support from USA Swimming was also cut-off for three months. Kellogg's also announced that it is not renewing its contract with Phelps after the photo came out saying that his “behavior is not consistent with the image of Kellogg.” Michael has accepted the decision of the governing body and has acknowledged the regrettable behavior and bad judgement.

Summer Paintball Tournament

My boss was talking about having a company paintball tournament this coming summer. I have never played one before although I have seen my nephews played paintball online. It seems like an exciting game trying to look for your opponents and aim your dye paintball guns. My company has booked an indoor paintball park to practice for the time that it is cold here but the tournament will be held outdoors. We will be competing with employees from the two branches we have here in New Jersey. I am now checking pntball.com if what gears do we need for this tournament. This will be fun and we are all excited.

Happy Birthday Manny Pacquiao

On December 18, Manny is turning 30 years old. He will be celebrating his birthday at his hometown General Santos City on Wednesday (Phil Time). I have read at inquirer.net that GMA is attending plus three world class boxers from Mexico and Venezuela. There are two venues for his birthday. One at the KCC Convention Center where some 300 VIPs and showbiz stars will be attending and for his fans and supporters, it will be at the Oval Plaza Grandstand in General Santos. A Las Vegas ambiance will be created for the party with a boxing ring as the stage surrounded by slot machines and poker tables. Pacquiao has a budget of P1-M for his birthday which includes 25 lechons, 5 roasted cows and around 6000 pack meals for his fans at the Oval Plaza.
This will be a party that Mindanao especially GenSan will not ever forget.
Happy 30th birthday to you Manny!

Serena Williams vs. Jelena Jankovic at the Finals

I am hoping for the U.S. to win. Last time Serena Williams was in the finals was in 2002 when she beat her sister Venus. U.S. Open was her first grand slam in 1999 and she is so happy that ten years after she is putting up a major fight. At this years quarterfinals, she won against Venus and her sister was seen last Friday supporting and cheering for Serena at the semifinals match against Dinara Safina (Marat Safin sister – one time U.S. open champ too). For Jelena Jankovic, this is her first grand slam finals. This could be very sweet if she wins. Whoever wins will get the No. 1 ranking next week. To quote Serena regarding their forthcoming match: “She (Jankovic) has a lot of pressure to win her first Grand Slam, and I am just enjoying every moment (of the game).” They are scheduled to play tonight at 7:00 p.m. eastern time if storm Hannah will allow them (I doubt it) but Serena said she is ready for Sunday, Monday, Tuesday…doesn’t matter when. Good Luck to both of you.

Olympics Controversies

Almost everybody have seen the supershow of China at the 2008 Beijing Olympics opening opening ceremonies. Now after a few days I have been reading some controversies regarding the show. First, that some of the fireworks display are fake, it was done digitally meaning through computers. According to the Beijing Olympics committee, it was because of the smog in China that it would be impossible to see the fireworks and also impossible to capture the 29 spots so it is necessary to replace the live video and also they are after the safety of the helicopter pilot who will be shooting be shooting the fireworks overhead. It was a mission for them to insert that video unnoticed (that it is not live). Even the people inside the bird cage were shown the animated fireworks thinking that it was really happening all over China.

Another controversy I have read today is about the cute, nine year old Chinese Girl in red dress and a pigtail who sang “Ode to the Motherland”. The name of that girl is Lin Miaoke but the real voice belongs to 7 year old Yang Peiyi. In short it was a lyp synch. Reason for this was because Lin’s face is not suitable for Olympic Opening Ceremony so at the last minute they have to get a replacement. In an interview at the Beijing radio station, Chen, the ceremony’s chief music directed is quoted as saying:

"The national interest requires that the girl should have good looks and good grasp of the song and look good on the screen. Lin Miaoke as the best in this. And Yang
Peiyi’s voice was the most outstansding".
