My Favorite Cereal

I was on yahoo health and it featured the best and worst breakfast cereal. My favorite cereal Raisin Bran is one of the worst Iconic cereal because of its sugar content. Its 19 g sugar is more than what Lucky charms, reese’s puffs or cocoa krispies. As an alternative, they are suggesting to have 1 cup of Kellog’s all Bran with 1 tablespoon of raisins. But maybe, I was really eating All Bran cereal because I remove all the raisins from Raisin Bran before adding my milk. I don't like raisins that's why.

Just to be on the safe side, i'll try not to eat Raisin bran every morning.

$258M Powerball Winner

Congratulations to Chris Shaw, a 29 year old tattooed father of three who works as a clerk in aconvenience store in Missouri. According to Chris, he is just a regular guy working paycheck to paycheck at the minimum wage rate who have bills to pay and with only $28.96 in his bank account. He is the 10th largest powerball winner ever who has not decided yet whether to take the lump sum or the 30 payments.

The winning numbers were 11-34-41-49-55, powerball 20 and the power play was 2. Chris bought his winning ticket last Wednesday for $5. The convenience store who sold him the ticket gets $50,000. If Chris will choose to get the lump-sum, his total winning is almost $125,000,000. As of now, all he wants is to spend more time with his kinds and bring them to Disney World in Florida.

Sweet Papaya

They were selling this at the flea market. From afar, they look like ripe mangoes pero papaya pala. They are not Philippine papaya either but look so sweet and yummy. The sign says $1 per pound and 1 papaya is at least 5 pounds for the smallest one.

I am not really into ripe papayas but green papayas in tinolang manok are my favorite. Maybe, we'll try one of the big yellow papaya next time.

See more yellows here MellowYellowBadge .

Cosi

As soon as we entered cosi restaurant, I was impressed with the nice interior of the place. From the curtains to the beautiful coaches and chairs with the perfect lighting, this place is perfect to meet friends, have a sandwich and coffee. It is self service and their food is made to order. Cosi serves pizzas, salads, soups, sandwiches, melts, breakfasts, desserts and coffee.

One weekend, we got the chance to visit cosi again after so many years. It was unexpected when we saw one in one of the strip malls we went. I ordered a traditional cheese pizza made on their thin crust flatbread while hubby got a tuna melt with tomatoes and melted cheddar with cosi vinaigrette served with cosi chips. I would definitely come back for the pizza. Instead of using tomato paste, they used crushed tomatoes which tasted very yummy. It did not taste like the normal tomatoes at all.

We will be back cosi.

Sandwich With No Bread

I am talking about the new sandwich which KFC has introduced in the market last yesterday. So unique this sandwich that you do not see any bread but two pieces of white meat chicken breast fillets with a filling of bacon, Monerey Jack and pepper cheese with Colonel’s sauce. KFC’s Double Down Sandwich can either be grilled or fried with KFC’s Original recipe.

For those who wants to know how much calories, fat and sodium this sandwich has, the fried double down has 540 calories, 32 grams of fat and 1380 milligrams of sodium while the grille one has 460 calories, 23 grams of fat and 1430 milligrams of sodium.

Papa John's Pizza

It was movie night Saturday today. We rented out 2012 in blu-ray to have a more "feel like in the movies" mode. We were already told that this movie is around two hours or more so we got ourselves prepared by ordering an XL4 (30% bigger than the regular large pizza). It was a huge pizza for only $11.99 with 4 toppings included. The toppings we got are grilled chicken, pineapple, bacon and onion on PPJ regular hand tossed crust.

I like their pizza. First, it is not oily. It was packed with toppings with not so much tomato paste. The crust was not hard, just like a freshly baked pizza. Next to try is their thin crust pizza.

Sweet Corn At The Flea Market

The corn is being cooked inside this big portable oven than can probably handle at least 50 corn at a time. You can see crates of corn ready to be cooked. Corns are cooked still with the husk.

This husband and wife (i assume) team are always at the flea market. To know where they are exactly located, just find a yellow flag raised and you can locate their exact spot. After the corn is cooked, they will ask you how you want it - peeled or not and what ever you want on it. We always have ours with butter and to go.

This is the freshly cooked corn. Looks yummy right. It is really yummy, sweet and juicy. How much? It's $2 each...used to be 3 for $5.
