A Day Off and A Lunch

My husband took a day off today to do some work in our house (change the lights to energy saving induction lamps) and go to motor vehicles for the car inspection. I know that the last day of the month is still on Saturday but since we already learned our lesson from the past, we will never do our car inspection on the last day of the month anymore.  Other than the car inspection, he also has to go to the town center to get a street parking sticker for the new car before we get ticketed by doing overnight parking on the street. If our drive way can only fit two cars at a time, we don’t have to get this sticker anymore.

On a day like this, we normally have lunch together. During lunch break, hubby came to my job  and he brought me to this nice outdoor restaurant for lunch. It is located on the hilly side of town, overlooking NYC with tables on the patio.  It was a little breezy but we still took one of the tables outside the restaurant. I had a soup and salad while hubby had lobster pizza. The food was delicious was great. We stayed a little longer for coffee until it was time for me to go back to work. It was really a perfect day to have an outdoor lunch together.

Show Your Touch of Class with Wine Gift Baskets

Gift baskets are offerings that can make anyone happy. The items put in the baskets speak what type of person is giving the basket. Hence, adding a bottle of wine will add a touch of class to the entire basket. The choice of wines also plays an important role in the quality of wine baskets that you are going to give.

It is best to order your wine baskets online when the recipients live far from you. So, you do not have to go through the trouble of packing the gift. Ordering online includes delivering your gift to your recipient in a timely manner, and the online vendor will take care of everything for you.

For people who love wines, they will surely enjoy making wine gift baskets. The personal touch of putting all the items together on your own will make the basket very exceptional and unique. In order to make the wine basket a very personal one, you have to make sure that you know the favorite wine of the recipients. This is to make the recipient very happy because this means you pay attention to their favorite.

The most important aspect when creating a wine basket is the basket itself. It should be sturdy enough to hold the bottle of wine and keep it in place. A sturdy basket is needed in order to avoid undesired accidents. Straws should be spread at the bottom or base of the basket in order to serve as a cushion and protect the wine bottle.

You should find the perfect wine for the recipient of the wine basket. Once you have selected the wine, you can choose other items that can be included to your basket. In order to make a good wine basket, you have to be creative. You can choose anything you want to include in the basket. You can add items that are practical or for oneĆ¢€™s hobbies such as books on wines.

Most people love cheese to go along with cheese. Thus, add some of the favorite cheese of the recipient in the wine basket that you will create. You recipient will surely appreciate the wine basket some more.

When creating wine gift baskets, moderation is the key. It is important not to drown your wine in a basket filled with a mess. A basket that is full of crammed items will only look overwhelming. Your recipient will have a hard time appreciating the gift. Thus, balance the number of items you include in the basket. There is no need to overload your basket. You just have to keep it minimal and add your stylish touch.

Our Fav Snack At Target

A shopping at Target is not complete without having something to eat at the store. Our favorite food every time we are at the Target store - 2 combo personal pizza (cheese and pepperoni) with bread sticks from pizza hut. The bread sticks with the marinara dipping sauce is a perfect pair for your pizza. I think for the combo and a medium soda is around $6 bucks. Always ask for the fresh bake when you order.

7 Eleven Has Wings

Our local 7-11 is selling wings. How did I find out? There is a subway restaurant next to it and we were ordering when hubby said we need chips to go with our sandwiches. So instead of getting the chips from SW, i went next door to get the bigger bag of chips. As I was paying, i saw this chicken wings so delicious looking so i ordered 5 pcs of the spicy zing. We were still in the car and we could smell the aroma. I tell you, it was not the best but it was good, and cheap. Not bad at all. Nice try mom.

Wishful Thinking

Taken in the streets of New York city when it was a hot and sunny summer day. We already missed you summertime. We can't do eating some ice cream or gelato while walking along new york city for quite a while now. It is now time for hot coffee or hot chocolate.

Food @ Disney World

It is not that bad. I'm referring to prices and also food like hot dogs and fries. We did not eat inside a restaurant so i cannot compare but with these hot dog, fries and soda combo, it was only around $10. Not bad at all. We also some have ice cream for around the same price. I could say food prices are reasonable inside disney world.

At The Supermarket Today

It's chaos at the supermarket. People are just grabbing anything from the shelves. This the aisle for the water. They are all gone, also the batteries, flashlights, milk and bread. We already have water but we went back today to buy vegetables, bananas and rent out dvd's. There are no shopping carts in the store and the parking was a mess. Everybody is doing panic buying.

Meat, Fruits and Veggies @'Target

I like shopping at Target. I find more quality stuffs in Target than in K and W. They also have started selling meat, fruits and veggies but I don't find their prices as competetive as supermarkets and walmart (for meat, fruits and veggies) but when you are in a rush and just to grab something quick, it is handy that T has already a produce section. Thanks for the freebie coupons too!

Caramel Sundae at Mickie Dees

Yes, the rumor is true. Caramel Sundae is back at McDonalds but with changes. The flavor is still the same but a little more money than the other Sundaes. It's not a buck anymore. This is what it says on my receipt when I purchased 2 caramel sundae this noon - 2 plain sundae $2.00, 2 caramel dazzle $1.00 plus tax, a total of $3.21.

As long as it's back, the $1.50 each is still alright.

Fried Kool Aid

Did you hear about this new food craze? A fried cool-aid!!! I only know cool- aid as a drink but somewhere in a fair at San Diego, the deep fried kool aid created by "chicken" charlie boghosian is selling like hot cakes. It is shaped like a donut hole and it comes in five per order. Wish I could taste one. My favorite cool aid is grape.

Free Donut Day

Today is National Donut day and in celebration of the this holiday, Dunkin Donuts and Krispy Kreme are giving away free donuts. In Dunkin Donuts, you have to buy a drink to get a free donut. Check their websites for details.

I love Krispy Kreme but there's none close to where I am right now. Dunkin Donuts is everywhere. I am not sure if I am stopping by for a donut...hmm, maybe yes. It's breakfast time...A donut and a coffee is perfect to start my Friday. TGIF!

Tired And No Time To Cook

Because we went to Costco after coming from work (around 6pm), so we just decided to buy the chicken wrap, pizza and caesar salad from there for our dinner. The caesar salad was big enough for us with huge slices of chicken breast. I tell you, the best time to go to Costco is during weekdays, less crowd, no line at the cashier and easy to get a parking. If you are curious how much gas at Costco (I'm from North Jersey) right now, it's $3.25. So that's it for a quick update. Later.

Does Your Kid Likes Brocolli?

My daughter does. She likes brocolli since she was still a baby. She used to call them "tree" but now that she's bigger, she does not call them "tree" anymore. Brocolli is not the only vegetable she eats, she also likes spinach, string beans, eggplant and fresh salads. I don't let her to feel that it is a big deal to be eating veggies. I want her to grow up knowing that vegetables are eaten regularly. She is loving them and I am so happy about it.

So We Had Mongo

I did go to the Filam store last weekend to buy the mongo. A 400 gram pack is $1.35 plus chicharon $1.85. I cooked it yesterday but we ended up eating it only tonight. I also put some shrimps and my favorite kamunggay leaves. I opted not to put the chicharon on the last minute because I picked the one with vinegar and also it tasted like old.

I took photo through my cellphone. My apologies for the picture.

My daughter's lunch to school today. I made her a chicken sandwich plus a some grapes. At least twice or three times a week, she brings her own lunch now which is good. So, I have to pack two sets of food in the morning - one for snack and one for lunch, each in a labeled individually in a brown bag. For her drinks, she a juice and a bottled water.
