Meeting My Seaman Nephew

He does not know my phone number. We have not seen each other for more than ten years. Now, he works as a seaman traveling around the world.

We communicate via the popular networking site. Last Tuesday, he posted as a status "hello new york." When i saw it, i right away replied telling him come to jersey and I will pick him up. He did not get my message until Thursday night. So finally, we ( me, hubby and the daughter) picked him up together with his friends at the post jersey yesterday night. As soon as I see him, I could not believe that the little boy i used to take care years ago is now a grown up, an income earner for the family. He told me that since his dad passed away he has been looking for ideas to pay for college. He is sending his little sister to school right now. She is studying to be a doctor. Although they have been doing a scholarship search, the most they can get is 50% free tuition excluding books, dorm and allowances. He said that it is a big responsibility but he is determined to work it out in every way he could. The time was just limited to catch up on everything but it was really good to see him.

We treated them to dinner at the Max restaurant then brought them back to the port around 11:00 pm. They will be on duty from 12 midnight to 6 in the morning then proceed to Bahamas. I do not know when they will get the chance to stop over here in new York again. The time spent together was short but it was indeed very sweet.

Learn Online At CoursePark

Today is supposed to be the start of my class at the campus for a subject I took besides the online courses I have been taking but apparently there were not enough students who enrolled for the summer so they ended up cancelling the course and rescheduled it for the regular semester. This worked to my advantage since I am already having problems with my work and school schedules. This is why I love online study very much.

Since I started with my online classes, I feel the need of learning more applications that I know I will encounter as I go forth with my studies. I remember when we had a report that requires the use of excel, I have to buy a book to educate myself on how to use the application unlike at CoursePark learning networks, you can learn courses online at your own pace. They also have online learning system for business who wants to train their employees or have your company courses built that be sold at the coursemarket.

If you want to take a peak of what CoursePark can offer you or to your business, go to their website at coursepark.com. Check also the free courses and more than 3500 courses available. To join is absolutely free. Click here to register now.

Mommy Is Going Back To School

When my daughter was still in Kindergarten, I told myself that I will start going back to school when she goes to first grade. Obviously, her schedule that time does not allow me to go back to pursue my education but now that my daughter goes full day in school, I guess I could. I may start by enrolling in health administration program at the local community college this coming
spring. I think it is never too late for a 44 year old mom with a full time job to get a second career. Who knows one day I see myself enrolling at Walden University. I am interested in their in B.S. in Healthcare Management or Healthcare Informatics course.

If you are trying to go back to school and wants news and information about education, get a subscription of The chronicle of higher education. You can also create a free account online so that you can participate in discussions, make comments and join forums. This is also helpful to people looking for jobs or pursuing a new career, like me.

Brightstorm for High Schoolers

I always believe that the best thing I could give to my child is education. Even if we do not have the much money before, my parents did their very best to send me to school that they can afford to finish my education. Now that I am a mother I want to instill to my kids the same principle that my parents have taught me. Education is the only thing that nobody can take away from you and it will be with you wherever you go.

I have a stepdaughter at home who is in high school. Sometimes she becomes lax with her studies which have somehow affected her grades. She will be in college soon so her father and I had a heart to heart talk with her and asked if she wants to sign up for a free tutorial classes at Brightstorm. We showed her the professionalism of the website. At
Brightstorm, each course is designed by a classroom teacher which will be in a form of video lessons. Each student can do the course at her own pace and order.

We are happy with the result. She has improved with her grades. It has given her educational effectiveness that every parent is happy to be achieved. If you want to experience what brightstorm can bring,
Sign up for a free brightstorm acocunt to get an access to a free course.

Best Student Accomodations in Leeds

I came to the office very early today because my boss will be out of the country for a few days and he has left me a lot of assignments before he flew to the U.K. He is accompanying his daughter to find some student houses in Leeds who will be staying there for a year as an exchange student. They have looked at some properties at pickardproperties.co.uk already but my boss wants to check the place himself before the daughter starts moving in. He will be back before the 15th for our Christmas party.
