$2.99/gallon gas for 3 years

Chryster is offering to its buyers or lesees of new vehicles a locked up price of gasoline and diesel for $2.99/gallon for 3 years. So if you buy or lease a brand new car from chrysler, Jeep or Dodge, you will get a card to be used in buying gas and the difference between the current gas price and $2.99 will be paid by chrysler. This offer will start Wednesday up to May 31, 2008. It is based on 12,000 miles of driving per year. Chrysler calls this offer “a gas price protection policy that eliminates the risk of further spikes in fuel prices.”
With gas prices increasing everyday, car dealers are thinking of ways to lure buyers to buy cars. Decline in SUV and truck sales have caused some car companies to layoff and buyouts. Gas right now is almost $4/gallon and how much more this summer. So do you think this offer will make you buy a car?
