More Candies

After an hour of trick or treating in our neighborhood, more candies were added to what was left at home. There could have been more but my feet were already complaining although my daughter wants to do another block. Nobody is eating all these candies at home. They are in a ziploc bags now inside the box for philippines.

When Will I Get To See You?

I thought I would be able to go to Brooklyn this Saturday. My cousin is going home to the Philippines on December 19th. We are supposed to see each other this Saturday so that I can bring to his house my package for my folks back home. New York and New Jersey are just a river apart but I haven’t seen this cousin of mine for years. Our schedules do not meet and both of us are always busy. We keep in touch through facebook or text messages.

So as I was saying, we agreed to meet this Saturday but after few days he sent me a message that if possible I have to be there before 9:00 in the morning because he has an overtime work starting at 10:00 am. I said, that’s fine. There is no problem going to New York early. Now, I just sent him a message that I cannot make it on Saturday because I have to make up for my hours at work since I left early yesterday to pick up my daughter from school who was sick.

So what’s going to happen with my package? There is no other option but to send via mail to his house without the 20 chocolate bars that the kids ordered. They are too heavy. They can wait for my box via sea freight. I just sent the kids some money to buy those chocolates at the duty free shop.

Coconut Flavored M&M’s

Somebody at my job has one small pack of this coconut M&M’s. I have never seen any m&m’s like this and she said it was sent to her by a friend from another state. I love coconut and this could be my favorite m&m. Very rare. What we always see at grocery stores are the brown and yellow packs but never a white pack. I found it at Amazon’s and the price is like $23.99!!!!! Geee!!!! plus, add shipping to that! And, it says Limited Edition M&M Coconut chocolate candy.

Coughing and Itchy Throat Relief

Halls Breezers or Ricola natural honey herb cough drops have been my best friend every time mr. cough attacks me. These are the two cough drops that are not so strong for me. When my throat starts itching or when a cough is building up again, i suck these candies for relief. One home remedy that helps me also is boiled ginger with tea, honey and lemon.

Choc Nut

There is nothing like having a choc nut melting in your mouth. It brings so much of yesteryears. It is still the same taste choc nut I used to buy from the sari-sari store when I was small. I know the price is too much comparing to how much it is back home but to be munching on choc nut once again is priceless.

Tamarind Candy

i am so addicted to this tamarind candies known as sampalok in Philippines. They look like raisins or even smaller and the wrapper says they are made in bangkok. it has the natural taste of our sampalok with no artificial flavor added. On the front, you cannot read the name because it is written in thailand but this is actually the moniegold in different packaging. I have bought a maniegold at the filipino store before but it was in a tiny plastic container but this new packaging is so handy. It fits even in my smallest purse.
