Dunkin Donut + Rachel Ray + Scarf

To start this, Dunkin Donut signed up with Rachel Ray as their new commercial model. She will appear on TV, prints, radio and special appearances on behalf of dunkin donut. In one ad she made, she was wearing a scarf that looks like a keffiyeh, a traditional headdress worn by Arab men. Because of the Arabic influence of the scarf the ad created a lot of criticism, even up to the point of boycotting donut chain. Dunkin donut decided to cancel the ad although that scarf was used without any symbolism meant.
You won’t be seeing Rachel Ray’s with DD anymore, maybe a different one in the future.

Another baby for sale

Recently i just posted about a baby on ebay, now here’s another, a Canadian couple put their seven day old baby up for sale on craigslit for C$10,000 or $10,100. The police was alerted when people saw the offer on the website. The parents are a 23-year old mother and a 26 year old father who were tracked down by the cell phone number they listed on craigslit. The parents said it was a hoax. The baby is now under the care of social workers.

Charice Pempengco

Charice Pempengco was recently in Las Vegas upon the invitation of David Foster in a show entitled David Foster & Friends. David Foster is a musician-record producer and the show was in Mandalay Bay last May 23rd with forter's discoveries with an audience of almost 10,000. It was a benefit show by Foster. Charice sang two songs, a medley of Whitney Houston songs in the movie Bodyguard which was produced by Foster and “Am I Telling You” from dreamgirls also produced by Foster. She got two standing ovations, loud cheers after each song and the audience was teary eyed . Charice was thrilled, happy and emotional being in the same show with famous singers like Bocelli, Groban and Buble. So Charice is Foster’s new discovery . He has nothing but praises to her. Charice Pempengco has made Filipinos proud of her in every performance she go. She was at the Paul O’Grady show in London last April and her guesting with Oprah was recently shown on national tv last may 12th.
This 16 year old is always thankful for all the breaks and blessings she has been getting. Good luck and more success.

French Open '08

The 2008 French Open starts today May 25th to June 8th, 2008. It is being held at the Roland Garros, Paris. The defending champion for men's singles is Rafael Nadal of Spain and for women's singles is Justine Henin of Belgium who just announced her retirement from tennis. The first Grand Slam event was at the Australian Open held in Melbourne last January. The champions were Noval Djokovic for mens and Maria Sharapova for womens. This is the second Grand Slam for this year. It would be another exciting two weeks in the world of tennis. Good Luck.

Sarah Jessica Parker, the star of Sex and the City tv show and movie is launching her own clothing line called "Bitten". She has signed an exclusive deal with Steve & Barry's to sell her clothes and it will be launched nationawide this coming June. You may think that because it's Jessica's clothes it will be expensive, no it's not. The prices will cost less than $20 - price range from $7.98 to $19.98. She wants people to be able to wear great clothes but not feeling guilty of buying it. Steve & Barry is known for selling clothes and accessories not over $20 with the philosophy of selling quality merchandise at the lowest possible price. They are all over U.S. Bitten will have 500 clothing items and accessories from shirts, jeans, dresses, lingeries, jewelries and shoes. a baby on ebay

This happened in berlin, germany wherein a 7-month old baby was posted on ebay for one euro. Are they out of their minds? People who saw the ad called the police. There were no bidders for the two and a half hours before ebay deleted the auction. The baby is now in the care of youth services and the mother says that she was only playing a joke. They are being investigated for child trafficking.

KC Concepcion & Richard Gutierrez loveteam

KC is from Abs-cbn and Richard is from GMA-7 but the two are making movies together. First movie is from Star Cinema of course starring KC and Richard, partly to be shot in Greece. The playdate of this light romance movie is on August 27th and the shooting starts on May 28 and will be directed by Joyce Bernal.

After their movie with abs-cbn, they will do another one with GMA-7, a 2009 valentine offering, entitled "When I met you" from APO's song of the same title. The project will start September 2008 immediately after their first movie is out. It will be directed by Jose Javier Reyes.

Richard signed up for only one movie with abs-cbn but KC has 3 with gma-7. So who thinks that the 2 rival station will not kiss and make up? Do you think this will beat the Sharon-Gabby of the 80's?

Andy Roddick to missFrench Open

Andy Roddick's right shoulder injury made him withdrew from the French Open. French Open will start this coming May 25 to June 8 at the Roland Garros, Paris. Because of his injury, he retired at the Rome Masters' semifinals last May 10 and also missed the Hamburg Masters last week. He is hoping though that he can join the Wimbledon. Andy's only grand slam win was at the 2003 U.S. Open and he ranked sixth in the world.

Jessica & Warren tied the knot

It has been confirmed by people.com that Jessica Alba, the soon to be mommy and Warren Cash got married quietly on Monday at a Beverly Courthouse ceremony room. They arrived at the courthouse together, applied for a marriage license and did all the paperwork, then the wedding follows right away. It was just the two of them and nobody else. They got engaged last December and they are expecting their first child this summer. Congratulations!

is smart car the solution?

With gas prices soaring to almost $4.00/gallon, the waiting list if you want to buy a smart car is one year or around 22 months. This car is 9 feet long , 5 feet wide, 5.1 feet height and can hit up to 30-33 miles per gallon city driving and 40 miles per gallon on highway driving . I has 70 horsepower and a 3 cylinder engine with maximum speed of 90/mph. Smart car has earned high ratings for front and side cash protections despite being a small car. The base model costs around $13,000. Already around 7,000 sold in the U.S. since it was intoduced in January. The manufacturer is Daimler AG Mercedes Benz.

So what do you think? For me, the car is cute, i saw it at the New York Auto Show last March but i need a bigger car. I will be scared to drive this fortwo car on highways and freeways.

maria sharapova vs. WTA

There is a controversy going on now between Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) and Maria Sharapova, the no. 2 in women’s tennis. WTA requires players to participate in activities to promote the association and this controversial one is a 4 hour commercial shoot for WTA. Maria Sharapova refused to participate because it will take from fri, sat or Sunday and she has to take a 12 hour flight from LA. She said that she has her own personal rule: no shooting before tournaments because is it mentally draining and she just want to focus on her tennis. She explained her side on her website: mariasharapova.com. If she does not participate, WTA is threatening her with a fine of more than $300,000.

As un update, as of May 12, Maria Sharapova has reached a compromise with WTA and has already completed a photo shoot with them. It was on the day before the Italian tournament (Sunday) but instead of a 4-hour photo shoot it was only for 90 minutes.
On the WTA ranking, Sharapova (Russia) is no. 2 with Justine Henin (Belgium) on the first place and Ana Ivanovic (Serbia) as third. The French Open will start May 25 – June 8 at Roland Garros, Paris.

Sharon Cuneta's CareGiver

For Sharon fans out there, this should be the movie you’ve been waiting for. CareGiver, a movie dedicated to filipino caregivers working abroad. Sharon is portrays the role of Sarah, a teacher in the Philippines who went to London and work as a caregiver. Playing the role of her husband is John Estrada, who is already working in London to be joined by Sharon. We will see in the movie the life, struggles, pain, sacrifices and joys of an OFW, working abroad to be able to give their family back home a better future. This is also Sharon’s come back movie after 4 years. It is directed by Chito Rono, his first with Sharon in a movie. This is part of Star Cinema’s 15th year anniversay and Sharon’s 30th anniversay in the movie industry. Opening in theaters in coming May 28 and will have international showing in London, LA and Hawaii.

Yes, the rumor is true. Mariah Carey, 38 and actor/rapper Nick Cannon, 27 got married in the Bahamas last April 30. The marriage took place at Mariah’s estate on Windermere Island of the Bahamas. It was a sunset wedding with few friends around after a 2 month whirlwind romance. They met during the MTV shooting of her song “Bye, bye.” The marriage proposal happened 5 days before the wedding at the rooftop of a New York apartment. Mariah wore an off white dress by Nile Cmylo and a Christian Louboutin shoes while Nick was in a white Balenciaga suit. This is the first marriage for Nick Cannon and the second for mariah. Her first was with Tommy Mottola in 1998 which lasted for 5 years. If you want to see mariah, she will be at Ellen de Generes show on May 13, her first TV appearance as Mrs. Nick Cannon.

I have seen the trailer of this movie "When Love Begins" starring aga muhlach and anne curtis and i am pretty sure this movie will make you fall in love again and kilig to the bones. Aga is almost 40 but his face still looks refreshing and so good looking. Anne Curtis and him made a very handsome pair.
The movie was shot in the white beaches of Boracay where Ben (Aga) and Michelle (Anne) met. It will be one of the most awaited and exciting film of the year. It will be in theaters on April 30 (p.i.).
